On September 16th, SHIZUOKA GAS CO., LTD. (Hiroyuki Kishida, representative director and president) transferred all of its shares in Thai-Japan Gas Network Company Limited(hereinafter, “TJN”)*1, which accounted for 49% of the total, to Thai ST Energy Investment Company, Ltd. (hereinafter, “TST”) which is newly established by Shizuoka Gas and Toho Gas Co. Ltd. (President: MASUDA Nobuyuki) by holding 51% and 49% of the total shares respectively. Shizuoka Gas will collaborate with Toho Gas in natural gas supply business for industries operated by TJN in the Kingdom of Thailand.
Through the collaboration with Toho Gas, Shizuoka Gas is aiming to develop TJN business by utilizing each customer networks, technologies and know-how to realize advanced energy utilization, and by further strengthening its sales force. This is the first time for the two companies to jointly engage in natural gas supply business for industries either in Japan or overseas.
Shizuoka Gas will continue to promote its overseas gas supply and renewable energy businesses and contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral society locally.
*1 TJN was established as a spin-off company of Scan Inter Public Company Limited (hereinafter, “SCN”), which provides industrial compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG). In August 2021, Shizuoka Gas announced that it would acquire 49% of shares in TJN, and in January 2022 completed the investment and began developing local customers.
