The first shipment of Australian LNG to Shizuoka Gas Company arrived on 15th May 2005 at its terminal in the port of Shimizu, Shizuoka, from Karratha in Western Australia. The LNG was transported by the tanker Energy Advance, owned by a subsidiary of Tokyo Gas Company.
The Company has a 24-year purchase agreement with the North West Shelf Venture, an unincorporated joint venture of six internationally operating oil and gas companies. The natural gas liquefaction plant is located in Karratha, and the LNG will be delivered FOB via a fleet of dedicated tankers.
