The 54th cargo of LNG from Malaysia, since the first in June 1996, will arrive at Shimizu LNG Company’s terminal on July 24. This will bring the Company's cumulative receipt of LNG to two million tons.
The first million tons was achieved in the five years following the initial shipment, while the second million tons comes only about three years after that, reflecting the successful penetration of natural gas in the company’s market.
The 54th cargo is carried aboard the Puteri Nilam (“Princess Sapphire” in Malaysian), one of four identical 130,000-m³ LNG ships owned and operated by Malaysian International Shipping Corporation, the shipping arm of the country’s national petroleum company, PETRONAS.
