On February 17, 2022, SHIZUOKA GAS CO., LTD. (Hiroyuki Kishida, representative director and president) reached an agreement with Hartree Partners Singapore Pte. Limited (“Hartree Partners”) for the joint consideration of purchase of carbon credits*1 on long-term basis and involvement in projects related to forest conservation managed by Hartree partners. Hartree Partners is a company engaged in the creation, management, procurement and commercialization of carbon offsets.

 

Under our 2050 Carbon Neutral Vision, the Shizuoka Gas Group views the next 10 years as a transition period toward our 2030 target of a CO2 emissions reduction contribution of 2 million tons*2. In addition to the advanced use of energy and the development of renewable energy, we strive to create carbon credits through forest conservation. The above-mentioned project is a part of these efforts.

 

The Shizuoka Gas Group will continue to contribute solutions faced by our customers and local communities through the steady progress in initiatives toward achieving carbon neutrality by the year 2050.
