Shizuoka Gas Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and President: Yoshitake Matsumoto, "Shizuoka Gas") announces that it has signed an LNG Sale and Purchase Agreement (“SPA”) with PETRONAS LNG Ltd. (Chief Executive Officer: Rosdi Ab Rahman, "PLL"), a subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad ("PETRONAS"), the national oil and gas company of Malaysia, on July 9, 2026.

PETRONAS is one of the world's leading LNG suppliers. Since receiving the first LNG cargo from PETRONAS at the Sodeshi LNG Terminal of Shimizu LNG Co., Ltd. in 1996, Shizuoka Gas has received more than 200 cargoes of Malaysian LNG over the past 30 years and has contributed to the expansion of natural gas utilization.
In recent years, amid heightened geopolitical risks, the importance of energy security has increased further. Under this SPA, LNG will be supplied from PETRONAS’ global LNG portfolio. The new supply arrangement diversifies Shizuoka Gas’ LNG portfolio and enhances procurement robustness through greater supply flexibility and reliability.
Based on the long-standing relationship of trust built over the past 30 years, Shizuoka Gas and PETRONAS aim to further strengthen the partnership beyond the traditional relationship between LNG seller and buyer by exploring future opportunities and collaboration in the field of carbon neutrality.
Shizuoka Gas Group announced its 2050 Carbon Neutral Vision in August 2021, outlining a roadmap toward carbon neutrality. Shizuoka Gas Group is committed to accelerating low carbonization through the stable procurement of LNG and realizing carbon neutrality together with its customers.
